"Burial" Mounds, Gyeongju, Korea

Digital Rebel XT.  f 5.6 at 1/400 second.  Not edited.

These make up one of the dominant landscape features of Gyeongju.  A long time ago the place was the capitol of the Shila Dynasty.  A LONG time ago.  What remains of those times are these burial mounds that give the place an other-worldly Hobbiton feel.  These mounds, however, sit between the parkinglot and Expo Park.  They are also fake.  Saw the real ones from the train and never made it back that way.  Basically just put up a photo of sume dirt piles.

Gyeongju Tower, Gyeongju, Korea

Digital Rebel XT.  f 5.6 at 1/500 second.  Not edited.

This is a view into the expo park.  The schnazzy building there is the Gyeongju Tower.  There are no photos inside of the park because it cost a bunch of won to get inside yet it looked deserted and half closed.

Sin Motel, Gyeongju, Korea

Digital Rebel XT.  f 5.6 at 1/25 second.  Not edited.

This is Motel Sinla.  You can probably learn Han-geul from the canopy alone.  What you can't see is that off to the side the lights are busted and the sign reads Sin Motel.  This place was actually pretty creepy in the dreary weather.  There were odd stains in the rooms, and there was a crow sitting on my balcony.  I had just finished reading Hell House.  In the middle of the night a pressure change resulted in my door being flung open and almost resulted in the need for new pants.

A Train Stop in Korea

Digital Rebel XTf 5.6 at 1/50 second.  Not edited.

Not really much to look at, sure, but I wanted everyone to experience a train ride in Korea.  Just flash this photo in your face every few minutes for three hours.
